As a consultancy, we’re committed to solving big challenges—anything from building medical companion apps that pass strict CE certification requirements, to creating a leading multinational retailer’s design system that governs all their regional sites. Working with enterprise clients on time-sensitive product launches means that we can’t afford to choose tools that slow us down. With Figma, our creative team has an intuitive tool that works at our speed, and gives our designers the flexibility to work in an Agile way.
Rangle: Doing the right thing, the right way, and then improving it
In choosing Figma as our design tool of choice, our Associate Design Director Trish Lamanna noted that, “Figma supports our way of working with real-time collaboration and unparalleled visibility. Since the tool supports unlimited viewing access, design is no longer a black box—anyone on the team from the developers to the product owner can have a look at the work in progress and offer feedback with the commenting feature.”
This ease of use, coupled with Figma’s superior design system integration, built-in version control, and activity logs, made it a no-brainer for our internal team to use when we were designing and building our own site. Streamlining the collaboration process between our designers, developers and marketing team, it both reduced rework, and made it possible to cut down on the time spent when revisions were necessary.
With this experience behind us, when it came time to build our design system accelerator Radius, we didn’t hesitate to use Figma for our design kit and component library.
Radius: A jump-start for your proprietary design system
With a number of design systems for global retailers under our belts, building the Radius foundation kit for companies who need speed in their digital transformation was both a way for us to add value for new clients, and to standardize our methods in a toolkit that includes best practices for processes and enabling technologies. In brief, Radius takes out the guesswork inherent in building a design system—you get velocity, less risk, and reduced cost and effort to help you get started. Our open source kit includes a basic collection of components, our top-choice tools for building the design system, a developer sandbox and automated testing to keep your build on track.

With Figma, the Radius program gets the benefit of tightly coupled library control—the tool was built with design systems and large organizations in mind—so versioning isn’t a worry for your teams. One of the best features is metrics: Allowing you to see component usage and adoption across your organization. This may seem like a nice-to-have, but it becomes critical once your design system is built and begins to scale within your organization. To learn more about how to structure your plan to scale your design system, you can read our blog on Governance by Design.
With Radius, companies can get the capital efficiency benefits of a design system with a reduced upfront cost. A well-implemented design system reduces time-to-market, reduces rework for your product teams, and allows your company to leverage cost-effective partners, knowing your brand identity will stay intact and your user experience will remain high quality.
